One day when I say, “I do,”
I pray that I’ll see God in you.
All I ask is a heart like David.
Maybe I could be your Jonathan?
15 years to anoint a king, so, be still my soul,
your shepherd boy is still in training.
Caring for Mephibosheth wasn’t easy for David.
God prepared him by having him tend to the sheep.
He broke lion jaws to protect his cattle.
However, his fight didn’t cause him to become fragile.
Rather, a mighty warrior is what grew within.
He sat amongst kings who wanted him dead.
Still, his heart grew in loyalty and love.
Raised into a king, he remembers the little boy from Bethlehem.
Jesse raised him upright, honest and true.
Please, be still my soul.
Your shepherd boy is coming soon.

“- He raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.”
Acts 13:22, ESV
Highlight: “Caring for Mephibosheth wasn’t easy for David.”
This is a reference to my disability. While I am still in a season of singleness, I truly believe that God is equipping my future spouse with the heart and patience needed to care for me through love. I am well aware that there may be difficult moments being in a marriage to a spouse with a disability, though a true man of God will understand that he must love me in such a way.
God bless and bless God.
